The 20-year-old is on loan until the end of the year and has made eight appearances so far for Coventry this season.
And his priority remains playing as many games as possible.
"If I'm playing well and the manager (Chris Coleman) likes me and wants me to stay then there's no reason why I can't extend it," Cork told Press Association Sport.
"If Chelsea want to extend it then I probably will end up doing that.
"I just want to get games really."
