The German international was of pivotal importance to the Real Madrid side last season but has found his opportunities cut short this season following the arrival of Fabio Coentrao.
Corriere dello Sport revealed that the Italian giants AC Milan will try and make a January swoop for the Germany international to strengthen their midfield.
Chelsea now believe they may be able to tempt Khedira with a switch to West London, although the midfielder would also face competition for a starting birth with the likes of Raul Meireles, Frank Lampard, Ramires and John Obi Mikel all vying for starting spots.
This would surely be a great sign of intent to Chelsea fans with Michael Essien sidelined with a serious ACL injury.
