Chelsea are understood to have met the buy-out clause to bring star winger Pedro to the Bridge with the Spanish star expected to sign next week according to reports in the Daily Star.

The 27-year-old winger has found he has fallen behind Suarez in the pecking order and is looking to join a club that will offer him a bigger role according to the report.

Manchester United were understood to have shown interest in signing Pedro but the report suggests that Chelsea have won this particular transfer battle and will gain his signature as soon as next week.

The Barca boss has revealed he will not stand in the way of the winger who has been with Barca since joining in 2004 as a youth and this is understood to be what he will say to the player now that the buyout-clause has been met.

Enrique said: "My wish is that Pedro stays, but there are circumstances in his contract and I will respect his opinion if he wants to leave."

Pedro is understood to be offered a four-year contract and the promise of a bigger role from his current situation which can only become more difficult with Neymar, Messi and Suarez up front.

The club’s temporary board are currently unable to sign-off any business so a deal cannot be finalized until after the Barcelona presidential election at the weekend.

Asked about his situation this week, Pedro said: "There are offers for me this summer and the situation is difficult.

"Any player wants to have playing time but it is getting more and more difficult with every season that passes.

"I would like to have finished my career here but we will have to see what happens. Obviously you are happier when you can play."

The players huge buy-out clause has been reduced from £106m according to the report.
