Jose Mourinhno's Chelsea have reportedly made moves to acquire Real Madrid pair Raphael Varane and Jese Rodriguez, according to the Metro this morning, as the club look to bring in January reinforcements to boost their Premier League title challenge.

Mourinho, former Real Madrid coach will be well aware of the pairs talents from his time in the Spanish capital and is now looking to bring the youngsters to Stamford Bridge. The Daily Express say that the Chelsea boss is set to offer £20million for defender Varane – a modest amount for a player rated so highly across Europe – and £15million for explosive winger Jese Rodriguez.

Both Varane, 21-years-old, and Jese, also 21, aren't considered first team regulars at Los Blancos with the likes of Bale, James and Ronaldo ahead of Jese and Pepe, Ramos ahead of Varane.

Mourinho would offer the pair an integral part in the West London clubs second half of the season as the Blues look to maintain their place at the top of the Premier League table.
