Chelsea rule out FA Cup victory parade

Chelsea take on Everton in the FA Cup final at Wembley a week on Saturday. Guus Hiddink's men are favoutites to lift the silverware and victory would give the Dutchman a perfect send-off as he leaves Stamford Bridge to slot back into his role as coach of the Russian national team. Hiddink has transformed Chelsea since replacing Luiz Felipe Scolari on a temporary basis, and many supporters hoped he would stay on permanently. However, Hiddink has confirmed he will not be Chelsea manager next season, with AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti the favourite to step into his shoes at the Bridge. As such, a parade would give the fans one last chance to, not only celebrate a possible victory, but also say thank you to Hiddink for what he has done. Chelsea, however, have confirmed this will not happen due to the credit crunch, with the Sun reporting that it would cost them £250,000 to cancel a parade were they to lose the final. A club spokesman said: "Taking in mind the current economic climate, we are not prepared to undertake the cost of organising a parade and then cancelling it at a few hours notice in the event of losing the final."
