Chelsea plot shock move for former Manchester United striker

Premier League Champions Chelsea have been linked with a shock move for former Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez, according to the Mirror.

The Mexican striker was offloaded during the summer by the Red Devils, after a season on loan at Real Madrid the season before. Despite being in desperate need of a striker, Van Gaal didn’t deem him good enough for the club.

He was signed by German side Bayer Leverkusen where he has flourished, scoring 12 goals in all competitions this season, and only cost them £8.75 million.

But he could potentially be returning to the Premier League, as strugglers Chelsea search for a goalscoring outlet, with Diego Costa, Radamel Falcao and Loic Remy all struggling for form.

The Blues are all the way down in 16th, despite winning the league last year. Their performances haven’t been too bad, but in defensive and up front is where they’re struggling; leaking goals and not being able to score them.

Under pressure manager Jose Mourinho therefore sees Chicharito as the man who could give his side a life, and lift them out of the dire position they've worked themselves into.
