According to caughtoffside.com, Chelsea are set to bid for FC Porto striker Jackson Martinez as early as this January, as Roman Abramovich is adamant Fernando Torres is not the player to lead the Chelsea line.

Chelsea have been linked with a plethora of strikers recently - but see the powerful Columbian as a more appropriate signing to Radamel Falco, who's asking price has been deemed too much for the club who recently splashed out £50million for their last striker.

Martinez, 26, has scored 11 goals in 12 games for FC Porto. Beating the records of former strikers Radamel Falcao, Lisandro Lopez and Hulk. Portugese journalist's have even named him 'Jackshow Martinez' for his stunning displays this season in a Porto shirt.

Juventus and Man City are also said to be keen on the Porto forward who is believed to have a 40million euro buy-out clause.

Chelsea had to pay out former manager Andre Villas-Boas' buy out clause at the start of last season, and will be expected to pay the full 40million euro's to get their man. Although an unproven talent in European football – Martinez is currently scoring goals for fun in the Primeria Liga, and could be on his way to London come January.

For all you Chelsea fans who are unaware of Jackson Martinez's ability – have a look below what the Columbian is capable of. Here he is scoring the only goal in FC Porto's win over Sporting Lisbon earlier this season.
