Chelsea are ready to take advantage of Barcelona's bid for Cesc Fabregas by launching a £30million raid for Dani Alves this summer.

It is understood the Brazil full back, widely renowned as the finest right back in the world, has emerged as Carlo Ancelotti's top transfer priority when the window re-opens at the end of the season and the Catalan club could be forced to sell.

According to reports in Spain the reigning European champions are close to agreeing a five-year deal worth £5.7m per year with the Arsenal captain but they may have to offload one or two big names to fund the mega money transaction.

The Blues would have no problem meeting the Brazilian's mooted £100,000 per week wage demands but could face competition from big spending Barclays Premier League rivals Manchester City should he become available.
