Chelsea join Arsenal and Liverpool in race for Demba Ba

Chelsea look to join Arsenal and Liverpool in the race for Newcastle hot-shot Demba Ba, IF they can not reach an agreement for Radamel Falcao or Gonzalo Higuain.

Despite the recent improvement from Fernando Torres – Chelsea are still linked with a plethora of attacking talent all around the world. The likes of Radamel Falcao and Gonzalo Higuain have been linked with the Blues for quite some time now – but both arrive with hefty price tags on their heads.

Newcastle striker Demba Ba, who has 10 goals in the league so far this season is the latest player to be linked with Chelsea – and comes with a much more reasonable price. His £7million release clause will once again be activated this January and Chelsea will look to pounce.

A striker in the similar mould to Didier Drogba – Ba could link up with Chelsea amidst rumours of a fall out at Newcastle.

Ba has been the one shining light in Newcastle's stuttering campaign, as they have failed to hit the same heights as last season. The Geordie side currently lie 14th in the Premier League.

Ba has reportedly fallen out with the Newcastle board over wage demands – something that he would have no issue with at Chelsea Football Club.

This current Chelsea side – although looking increasingly sharper – are currently lacking goals. Ba currently sits 3rd in the Premier League Golden Boot race, and for just £7million – he would be a much more reasonable and sensible acquisition by Chelsea Football Club.
