Chelsea given 24-hour deadline to sign Atletico's £50m-rated Sergio Aguero

Atletico Madrid have set Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti a 24-hour deadline to increase their £42million offer by £8m ahead of the Spanish side's Champions League play-off. The Argentine ace is valued at the £50m mark and Atletico are refusing to budge on their asking price and vowing to play Aguero against Panathinaikos on Wednesday. Should the highly-rated striker feature any hopes of a deal would immediately hit the buffers, since the 21-year-old would be cup-tied from Champions League football. Manchester United have also been linked with Aguero over the summer but Atletico fear a backlash from their fervent supporters if they let their man leave for a rival club.
