Bayern Munich have signalled their determination to keep Franck Ribery by reportedly rejected a £70million bid from Chelsea for the France star. The bid would have met Bayern's various arbitrary figures that directors have bandied about this summer, but reports claim the approach was knocked back. Ribery is keen on a move to Real Madrid but the high-spending Spaniards are not prepared to be ripped off for the 26-year-old. Asked about negotiations with Madrid, Ribery said: 'Things are not going very well. It is a very difficult situation for me. It is best to speak to my agent.' When asked where he would play next season, he replied: 'Sorry, I can't speak about it. It's a very difficult situation. I'm sorry.' Barcelona's good relations with Bayern mean the Spanish champions have been kept informed of offers for the playmaker, who has also interested Manchester United. It is from this link that reports have surfaced in Spanish newspaper El Mundo Deportivo claiming there was the £70m bid from Chelsea.
