Chelsea edge closer to Shakhtar Donetsk goal machine with Sadio Mane also an option

Chelsea Football Club have been keeping close tabs on Brazilian forward Alex Teixeira for some time now, but as of yet, the Blues haven't been able to get a deal over the line. However, it seems the move could finally happen this month with the player, on more than one occasion, expressing interest in a move to Stamford Bridge.

According to Fichajes (a reliable Spanish media outlet), Willian and Oscar were able to convince their close friend and fellow Brazilian that a move to the Premier League Champions was the best option. The two clubs are believed to be locked in negotiations for a deal in the region of £30 million. If, or when the move does happen, interim manager Guus Hiddink is likely to have a selection dilemma as the attacking positions are some what occupied. Texeira may have scored 26 goals this season and yet it is unlikely he would be trusted ahead of his fellow Brazilians, Willian and Oscar with Eden Hazard having emerged as a bit of an untouchable.

Rumours are also circulating that Chelsea may high jack Manchester United's move for Sadio Mane in what would turn out to be a mass bolstering of the attacking department. The Southampton winger seems to be angling for a move sadly in an incredibly unprofessional manner.

The likelihood is that a signing will be made sooner rather than later in a period which may define Chelsea's season.
