Chelsea defender Jose Bosingwa ruled out for rest of season

Bosingwa had been back in light training after knee surgery but has now been ruled out for the season because another operation is required. [LNB]That means he is unavailable for Chelsea's challenge for a treble of Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League and the World Cup finals in South Africa. [LNB]Chelseas Jose Bosingwa cleared by FA over Yossi Benayoun challengeThe news is a further injury setback for Chelsea in the wake of the loss of first-choice goalkeeper Petr Cech, who will be sidelined for a further two weeks at least with a torn calf muscle. [LNB]Chelsea are also currently without Michael Essien (knee) and Ashley Cole (broken ankle). [LNB]Essien has not played for Chelsea since he suffered a hamstring injury against APOEL in December and his problems have been further compounded by a knee problem he sustained while with Ghana at the African Nations Cup.[LNB]Chelsea assistant manager Ray Wilkins confirmed Bosingwa, who has played 57 games for Chelsea since signing from Porto for £16.2 million in May 2008, needed a second operation. [LNB]The 27-year-old right-back suffered the injury against Aston Villa in October. [LNB]Wilkins said: "Bosingwa will be out for the season. [LNB]"He will have another operation on his knee and that is him out of the World Cup as well." [LNB][LNB]
