Chelsea confirm Ashley Cole has signed a new fouryear contract

Terry finalised a new improved five-year deal earlier this week as the club makes moves to tie down some of it's key players. Cole has been an integral member of the Chelsea side since joining from Arsenal in acrimonious circumstances back in 2006. The deal will keep Cole, one of the most accomplished fullbacks in the Premier League, and one of Carlo Ancelotti's stand out performers in this season, at Stamford Bridge until 2013. Currently with the England squad before Saturday's friendly against Slovenia and next week's World Cup qualifier against Croatia, Cole scored a superb goal on Saturday when Chelsea beat Burnley 3-0 in the Premier League. He has won the FA Cup twice and the League Cup once with Chelsea, as well as reaching the 2008 Champions League final. 'Chelsea FC is delighted to confirm that Ashley Cole has signed a new four-year contract,' a statement on Chelsea's website confirmed. As well as Cole and Terry, Didier Drogba, John Mikel Obi and Florent Malouda have also signed extensions at Stamford Bridge recently.
