Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti battles to keep Ashley Cole

Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti will welcome back his England contingent to the club's Surrey training headquarters on Monday with urgent business on his mind.[LNB]Their number has already been decreased by one after Joe Cole moved to Liverpool in a departure Ancelotti was happy to sanction.[LNB]But the future of Ashley Cole is set to give the Italian far more sleepless nights.[LNB] Will he, won't he? Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti hopes to keep Ashley Cole[LNB]Chelsea's other England World Cup players, John Terry and Frank Lampard, were granted bumper new contracts when speculation about their futures increased in previous summers.[LNB]It remains to be seen whether owner Roman Aabramovich will try to quash speculation about a move to Madrid for with another pay bonanza.[LNB]Ancelotti spoke at the weekend about his unwavering confidence that Cole will remain at Chelsea despite the player's reported anguish over troubles in his personal life and desire to escape media attention and the taunts of fans.[LNB]The Chelsea manager said: 'Ashley is a player and nobody wants to sell him. We want to keep him in our squad. Ii am 100 per cent sure he will be at this season. I consider him to be the best player in his position in the world. I don't need to talk to him.[LNB]'He is happy to stay at Chelsea. He never said he wanted to go. There is no chance he will go. No way.'[LNB]Unsettled: Ashley Cole[LNB]But with new Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho ready to throw a supportive arm around his former charge, a sit-down with Cole is on top of Ancelotti's to-do list.[LNB]Cole returned to 11 days ago after a jaunt to Los Angeles where he was pictured with a string of scantily clad women.[LNB]Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck has already warned him that if he thinks he will avoid the glare of the paparazzi in Madrid any more than in London then he should think again. It is inevitable after the split with his pop star wife Cheryl.[LNB]If Cole insists on going, Real will waste little time in lodging a temptingly large bid, which could include Holland midfielder Rafael van der Vaart in part exchange.[LNB]Van der Vaart is certainly up for a move, saying: 'I have heard of the interest from Liverpool and Cchelsea and that is very flattering.[LNB]'If either of them were willing to offer me first-team football, will be honest that it would be very hard for me to not listen to what they had to say.'[LNB]Ancelotti is pressing ahead with his main recruitment plans. Aas revealed in Sportsmail, Brazil midfielder Rramires should arrive at the end of this week, followed by his Benfica team-mate and countryman David Luiz.[LNB]But Ancelotti is not without other worries, having lost Petr Cech, Alex and Didier Drogba to injury for the start of the coming campaign.[LNB]Drogba had surgery on a groin injury last Friday and is not expected to resume full training for another three weeks.[LNB] Cole's staying at Chelsea, insists Carlo (so keep your hands of my man, Jose)Carvalho targets Real Madrid move after agreeing release from ChelseaCHELSEA FC
