Chelsea boss Ancelotti confident Blues will win appeal over FIFA transfer ban

Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti is confident the club's appeal against FIFA's transfer ban will be successful.[LNB]The Blues have been banned from signing any new players until 2011 after FIFA found them guilty of inducing teenager Gael Kakuta to breach his contract with Lens in 2007.[LNB]Chelsea have appealed through the Court of Arbitration for Sport in an attempt to get the decision overturned.[LNB] Shocked: Ancelotti says he was surprised when he learned of the transfer ban[LNB]Ancelotti says he was shocked when the ban was handed out but believes the Barclays Premier League club will it get it overturned.[LNB]He said: 'The decision was a surprise for me. But now the club are appealing, and we have to wait for a good result for us.[LNB] 'We hope that they overturn the decision. Now, the transfer embargois not a problem because we have a very good team and very good players- but in the future, we'll have to wait and see.[LNB]Centre of the storm: Teenager Gael Kakuta[LNB]'Now I have to think about my job and about my players. I haven'tspoken to owner Roman Abramovich about it, but it's not necessary forme to do that. I don't have to speak to Roman about this situation.'[LNB]Chelsea have spent the summer snapping up their stars on long-termcontract extensions with Didier Drogba, John Terry and Ashley Cole allsigning new deals.[LNB]But Ancelotti insists that was more about the future of the club than suspecting FIFA would hit them with a transfer ban.[LNB]'Getting players on long-term deals - given this decision - is veryimportant. But that's not about this decision,' said the Italian.[LNB]'It's more about the future of this club - to have John Terry, FrankLampard, Didier Drogba and Ashley Cole in this team and at this clubfor years to come.'[LNB] Leaders Chelsea travel to Stoke tomorrow, hoping to make it fivestraight wins and - with their Champions League adventure beginningagainst Porto at home on Tuesday night. There are also games againstTottenham and Liverpool coming up.[LNB] He said: 'We're entering a very important period for us now. Butwe're in a good situation to do very well.
