Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United feature in Europe's top 10

UEFA has released a list of top performing European teams based on its coefficient rating system. Clubs are awarded points based on their level of attainment in the UEFA Champions League and Europa League over a five year period.

Points System

First Qualifying Round - 0.5 points

Second Qualifying Round – 1 point

Group Stage Participation – 4 points

Group Stage Win – 2 points

Group Stage Draw – 1 point

Round Of 16 Participation – 4 points

An extra point is awarded for every stage afterwards. Total points is summation of points scored and 20% of League rating.

1) Real Madrid – 167.228 points. ( Champions League Winners 2014)

2) FC Barcelona – 156.228 points. ( Champions League Winners 2011)

3) FC Bayern Munich – 149.711 points ( Champions League Winners 2013)

4) Chelsea – 142.078 points ( Champions League Winners 2012, Europa League 2013)

5) Atletico Madrid – 120.228 points ( Europa League 2010 and 2012)

6) Benfica – 118.209 points ( Europa League Finalists 2013 and 2014)

7) FC Schalke – 111.711 points ( Semi-finalists 2011)

8) FC Porto – 111.209 points ( Europa League Winners 2011)

9) Arsenal – 110.078 points ( Consistent Round Of 16 Participation)

10) Manchester United – 103.076 ( Champions League Finalists 2011)
