Frank Lampard could make a sensational switch to London rivals Arsenal as early as this January as contract talks with Chelsea continute to stall. The Chelsea midfiedler will reportedly NOT be offered a contract extension at Chelsea Football Club, according to the Daily Mail.

Arsene Wenger boss is known for his eye for young talent in the transfer market, with such success stories like Cesc Fabregas, Robin van Persie and Theo Walcott. But Arsene Wenger sees the former West Ham player as the man to add experience to his youthful side and offer a steady head in midfield to work with Mikel Arteta in the nurturing of Jack Wilshere.

Wenger is believed to be keen to sign Lampard for a small fee in January as he looks to maintain Arsenal's impressive record of consecutive Champions League appearances. With rumoured approaches from China and America for Lampard's services – Wenger should be keen to sign Lampard up as quick as he can.

Although currently injured – Wenger has no doubts over the fitness of Lampard – who up until this season has been a major part of Chelsea Football Club, even at the age of 34.

Lampard is free to talk to other clubs in January about a potential free move in the summer, but Arsenal are reportedly planning to approach Chelsea with a formal bid in January in the hope of forcing their London rivals to cash-in.

Lampard has been hailed as one of the fittest, most dedicated players in the Premier League, and Wenger see's the England international the perfect signing to finally get Arsenal's campaign on board.
