Chelsea agree deal for 18million rated midfielder: report

Chelsea Football Club have agreed a deal in principle with Shakhtar Donetsk for the sale of their prolific midfielder Douglas Costa. Reports suggest that Jose Mourinho has had this Brazilian on his radar for a number of months now but failed to sign him earlier as the Ukrainians were bent on getting more for their star player.

Even now the deal is not all that simple as it seems as if the player is the one bent on instigating a move to the Bridge as he feels his career would be moving on to the next level at Chelsea. He was quoted as saying, “I want to work with the best coach Jose Mourinho.” Furthermore, the Chelsea hierarchy have not been entirely convinced that he is the right man seeing as the positions he favours playing that is the number 10 role and central striker are already occupied by considerably better players.

As if things could not be more complex, it appears Chelsea would have to sacrifice a midfield player so as to facilitate the Costa move and with Mohamed Salah, Lucas Piazon and Thorgan Hazard impressing on loan the transfer will be decidedly difficult.
