Change leaves Cole content
28 Jan 2009 - 16:05:43
Chelsea left-back Ashley Cole has thanked Luiz Felipe Scolari for helping him return to top form this season.
The England international believes he is playing the best football of his time at Stamford Bridge, and knows who should get the plaudits for his revitalisation.
Cole thinks he has benefited from a change of tactics this term, telling the London Evening Standard: "The manager changed the way we play, he wants the full-backs to attack.
"People used to say that was my game and I'm really enjoying attacking again.
"This is the best I've played since I came to Chelsea. He's given me a lot more opportunity to get forward. We've shown that the more me and Jose Bosingwa get forward, it's hard for the opposition to mark us.
"I'd rather play every game, it's better for the brain and keeps me fit.
"If we keep cleans sheets we will always have the firepower to score at the other end. We're not in a bad position and we think we'll turn our form around."
