Cech hopes for Cats return

Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech hopes to make his return from injury in time for Saturday's clash against Sunderland.

The Czech Republic international has missed the last four games with a calf muscle problem, but has returned to training this week and believes a place in the squad to take on the Black Cats is a realistic possibility.

However, Cech's understudy Carlo Cudicini has conceded just one goal in those four matches and could retain his starting place after impressing manager Avram Grant during his rare run in the first team.

"When you want to be back quickly you have to give 130 per cent and I am happy with the way I have progressed," said Cech.

"You always want to be on the pitch and playing. I have been training really hard to come back.

"I couldn't make it against West Ham last weekend but hope to play on Saturday."
