Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech has signed a new five-year contract to keep him at Stamford Bridge until 2013.
The 26-year-old Czech Republic international still had two years remaining on his existing deal, but new Blues boss Luiz Felipe Scolari was keen to tie "the best goalkeeper in the world" down to a new long-term contract.
"It is an honour to be at a club like Chelsea and I am happy to have renewed my contract," Cech told the club's official website.
"Chelsea has grown in my heart, not just because of my team-mates and all the people that work for the club but also because of their fantastic fans."
Cech joined Chelsea in a £7million deal from Rennes in 2004 and has kept 90 clean sheets in 166 appearances.
He also set a new top-flight record of 21 clean sheets during his first season in the Premier League.
"I am delighted that Petr has signed a new contract," added Scolari.
"In my view he is the best goalkeeper in the world, so I am very pleased that he will remain with me at Chelsea."
