Cech keen to qualify

Petr Cech has urged Chelsea to seal qualification from Champions League Group F this month so they can rest players ahead of December's hat-trick of Barclays Premier League games against last season's top four. Blues goalkeeper Cech has pinpointed the back-to-back matches against Tottenham, Manchester United and Arsenal as being crucial to his side's hopes of retaining the title. Those clashes immediately follow Chelsea's final Champions League group game at Marseille and Cech believes it could be important to travel to France already qualified. "If you go through that Christmas period at the same level of points ahead then it will be a massive boost for us," said Cech, ahead of Wednesday night's game against Spartak Moscow, which could see them reach the Champions League last 16 with two matches to spare. "If we did qualify on Wednesday, it is a different story as we can think about resting players in the last Champions League games. "There will be a tough calendar in November and December for us and once we qualify for the Champions League knockout stages, we can forget about it and concentrate on the league."
