Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech believes Andre Villas-Boas needs to match the standards of Jose Mourinho to be a success at Stamford Bridge.[LNB] Cech will be working with his seventh different manager in Villas-Boas as he prepares for his eighth season in West London.[LNB]Since the Mourinho era, Avram Grant, Luiz Felipe Scolari, Guus Hiddink and Carlo Ancelotti have all had spells at the helm and Cech believes only success can bring stability to the manager's job.[LNB]"You change the manager when you see there is no way to continue," said Cech.[LNB]"I think that's the philosophy (of the club) and I hope there will be a way for Andre to continue for many years. [LNB]"Seven managers have been appointed as Chelsea manager since I joined the club and, unfortunately, apart from Jose who was here for three-and-a-half years, nobody lasted long. [LNB]"You will see, if we have a great season then we will build the base for the manager to stay for many years.[LNB]"Jose Mourinho set a standard here and the others have had to try and do better than him.[LNB]"Managers have their own philosophy. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. "[LNB]Cech experienced working alongside Villas-Boas during Mourinho's time in charge at Stamford Bridge and he has been impressed by his impact since arriving as manager this summer.[LNB]"Since Andre was here (before) working with Jose many things have changed," Cech said. [LNB]"The club has changed. He has changed - from a person who was on the technical staff to being a manager - and I think that so far everything has been working well and I hope that will continue.[LNB]"We have always had a strong defence and built from that.[LNB]"So far we have not conceded a goal in pre-season, which is a good sign. It is always good to win games without conceding. That builds up confidence."
