Carvalho to discuss future
Chelsea defender Ricardo Carvalho has revealed he plans to hold talks with Carlo Ancelotti next week regarding his future. The Portuguese centre-half has become a summer transfer target for Inter Milan, along with Stamford Bridge team-mate Deco. Former Blues boss Jose Mourinho, who is currently in charge at Giuseppe Meazza, has advised Inter president Massimo Moratti that he sees Carvalho and Deco as ideal summer recruits for his Serie A champions. As a result, the Italian giants are prepared to do all they can to lure the Portuguese pair away from west London. No formal offer has yet been lodged for either player, but tentative discussions have been held between Inter and Chelsea. Carvalho admits to being aware of the mounting interest, but insists a deal is far from certain. He claims he is yet to meet with Chelsea's new boss Ancelotti, who does not officially take charge of the Blues until 1st July, and he is keen to do so before he makes any decision regarding a possible summer move elsewhere. "Inter have expressed their interest," he told La Gazzetta dello Sport. "But the two clubs have to reach an agreement so there's a lot of work left to do and then they need to speak to me because I have a contract with Chelsea." He added: "I have not spoken to Mourinho in a long time and I have neither spoken to our new manager. "Next week I will meet the club and discuss my future."
