Guus Hiddink has confirmed Ricardo Carvalho will miss Chelsea's UEFA Champions League semi-final, first-leg tie against Barcelona.[LNB] Carvalho aggravated a hamstring problem playing for the reserves on Monday and missed the midweek draw with Everton in the Premier League.[LNB]The Portuguese defender has endured an injury-plagued season and will now sit out Saturday's game with West Ham and next Tuesday's trip to Camp Nou.[LNB]"He (Carvalho) got a little bit of trouble again in his hamstring in the reserves, so he won't be there next week," said Hiddink.[LNB]OpportunityThe Blues boss also has a conundrum over who to play at left-back against Barcelona, with Ashley Cole suspended for the first leg.[LNB]Michael Mancienne is an option after playing in that position for the reserves against West Brom, while Jose Bosingwa could start at left-back if he proves his fitness after a hamstring injury.[LNB]Hiddink added: "We have the problem with Ashley Cole as well, but I can start crying about these problems or I can think there's an opportunity to get an advantage out of a disadvantage.[LNB]"We have some candidates for the left-back position and we have some time to practise.[LNB]"I have some options in my mind."[LNB]
