Carvalho focused on Blues

Ricardo Carvalho has brushed off speculation about his future by insisting he wants to come back better than ever for Chelsea next season. The Portuguese centre-back has endured an injury-plagued campaign and appears to have fallen behind Alex in the pecking order since Guus Hiddink was appointed as manager. He has been linked with a summer move away from Stamford Bridge, with reports suggesting clubs in Spain and Italy are interested in securing his services. Carvalho has refused to be drawn on the transfer talk and is staying focused on recapturing his best form with the Blues. "I only think about returning stronger next season at Chelsea," the 31-year-old told the Portuguese media. "This season has not been positive for me due to injuries. Now I am working to recuperate and return at the best level next season. "I want to improve because I am not happy with this year on a personal level." Carvalho, who joined Chelsea from Porto in 2004, is confident of claiming victory over Everton in the FA Cup final later this month. "Chelsea merit a title this season and now I intend to celebrate with the fans our success in the FA Cup final against Everton."
