Carlo is dead man waking as Roman ponders Italian's sacking

Ancelotti to meet owner in two weeks' time Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich’s will decide the future of coach Carlo Ancelotti in two weeks' time. Ancelotti, who led Chelsea to their first domestic Double last year and look set to finish runners-up this season in the Premier League admitted that his future is not in his hands. “My position is I want to stay but will accept the club’s decision at the end of the season. “We will wait and see. “We will arrange a meeting at the end of the season [with the owner]. “I don’t know what the owner thinks about this season – my opinion is that we could do better. “Italy is my country I will come back in Italy one day – but in two years I have found fantastic football with no violence I want to stay here." Ancelotti admitted that his team just fell short of what was needed to take the title race into the final laps of the season. “They played better than us and deserved to win," he said. “It was a strange game, conceding a goal after a minute - we tried to do things differently using more power but it was difficult. “We needed to win here. When 2-0 down it was difficult. “I was not angry with Luiz [at fault for the first goal] but I wanted to use a substitution. This game was important to use to fight for the title. “But I want to say thank you to them for the past two months.” Ancelotti then heaped praise on United and boss Sir Alex Ferguson: “Sir Alex is a fantastic coach and man. he does a fantastic job at Man United. “But United have a fantastic strikers and scored at the first opportunity. “United just need a point – we have another two games to fight for second place in the league. “Today, United were superior – and also in the Champions League. “In general they showed more continuity playing good football. “Chelsea did not do its best – last year was a fantastic season this season less so. "Now is not the right time to think about new players for next season - this is a good squad."
