Carlo Ancelotti tipping Fernando Torres to do a Wayne Rooney

Carlo Ancelotti is confident Fernando Torres will come good for Chelsea in the same way Wayne Rooney rediscovered his form for Manchester United. Torres is still looking for his first goal since leaving Liverpool in a ?50million move in January. The Spain striker looks bereft of confidence and Ancelotti's decision to pick him ahead of Didier Drogba for Tuesday night's Champions League defeat at Manchester United backfired spectacularly. Still nothing: Spanish striker Torres has played 11 games for Chelsea but has yet to open his account The Blues boss had not decided on Friday morning what part Torres would play in Saturday's Barclays Premier League game at West Bromwich but was adamant he would eventually start repaying his transfer fee. Comparing him to Rooney, who endured a miserable 12 months until hitting top form recently, Ancelotti said: 'Obviously he's not happy, and he is disappointed, but it's not easy for him to manage at this moment. He has to show character. 'Rooney lived the same situation: he was not playing well and not scoring, but everyone at the club maintained good confidence with him. Keeping the faith: Ancelotti is convinced Torres will hit the goal trail soon enough 'Everyone believed that he could move on, and he moved very well. Now Rooney has come back to playing fantastic football. 'Torres is the same. One goal will give him the opportunity to move on quickly. 'Torres is a fantastic transfer, not just for the present but also the future. To judge him now is not right. We have to wait. He will be a fantastic player for the future of Chelsea.'  Ancelotti unfazed over Chelsea future as Abramovich prepares to swing the axeAll the latest FA Cup and Premier League team news for April 16 & 17Torres will score plenty of goals for Chelsea, insists former boss HodgsonGuus raid is no Turkey shoot for Chelsea as they face battle for HiddinkAll the latest Chelsea news, features and opinion  Explore more:People: Wayne Rooney, Fernando Torres, Didier Drogba, Carlo Ancelotti Places: Liverpool, Spain
