Carlo - Trust me over Terry

Carlo Ancelotti is expecting John Terry to sign a new contract at Chelsea next week and has urged people to 'trust' him when he says his captain will not be leaving. Manchester City have failed with two bids to prise Terry away from their Premier League rivals and retain an interest in the centre-half. Reports have claimed that Terry's silence on the subject has only heightened City's belief that they can persuade Chelsea to sell the 28-year-old. However, Ancelotti is adamant that the England skipper will not be sold, with a resolution to the situation anticipated in the coming days. "We have to wait and for some people, it's a problem to wait," said Ancelotti. "For us, it's not been a problem because we are sure that John stays at Chelsea, so it's never been a problem. "You have to have trust in me." Meanwhile, Ancelotti does not expect City to be in a position to mount a title challenge this season despite the raft of big-money signings that have been added to Mark Hughes' squad. He added: "Manchester City have bought a lot of players and maybe they are an important team, but Manchester United have more experience. "For the title, I don't know. They are a new team, with a lot of players to try to find a good solution on the pitch. "I don't know if this year they can be ready for the title."
