Carlo not ruling out treble chance

Carlo Ancelotti has not ruled out Chelsea winning more than two major trophies this season - but would take a repeat of last term's double.[LNB] The Blues kick off their 2010-11 campaign on Sunday at the venue where they ended the 2009-10 season: Wembley.[LNB]After the Community Shield clash with Manchester United, the real business begins for Ancelotti's men as they try to defend their Barclays Premier League and FA Cup successes.[LNB]That represented the most successful season in the club's history, but there was still a twinge of disappointment at Stamford Bridge as the Champions League once again proved elusive.[LNB]Despite losing big-name players in the shape of Michael Ballack and Joe Cole this summer, Ancelotti insists he still has a squad capable of competing - and even winning - on all fronts.[LNB]Asked if Chelsea could win more than two major trophies, he said: "More? Maybe.[LNB]"I think that last year, we did the best. I think every player did the best possible.[LNB]"We want to do the same. We are able to do this."[LNB]The Italian added: "I think we have to be competitive in all the competitions, not only in the Premier League and not just in the Champions League.[LNB]"Obviously, they are fantastic competitions.[LNB]"We did very well in the Premier League; we hope to do better in the Champions League."[LNB]Ancelotti would also have been hoping for better in pre-season, with Chelsea failing to register a victory over top-flight opposition in the build-up to Sunday's game.[LNB]But the Italian shrugged off recent results, alluding to the fact his World Cup players had only recently returned to training.[LNB]"It was a different pre-season because not all the players started together," he said.[LNB]"We were disappointed about the defeats because losing is not a good thing. Now we are looking forward."[LNB]Those sentiments were echoed by defender Branislav Ivanovic, who will partner John Terry at the back on Sunday.[LNB]"Some of us have only just started pre-season, which is a very important period," said the Serbia international, who nevertheless believes the Blues are in good shape for their Wembley clash with United.[LNB]"It is always a tough game against United, but I think we will be as ready as we can and we need to give our maximum against them."[LNB]After playing second fiddle to Paulo Ferreira and Jose Boswinga at right-back during his early Stamford Bridge career, Ivanovic made the position his own last season - partly due to an injury to Boswinga.[LNB]Ferreira has been back in favour during pre-season but, far from being frozen out, Ivanovic has found himself thrust into the heart of Chelsea's defence.[LNB]"I am here to play wherever the manager says, and for me it is good because I can play in two positions," Ivanovic told his club's official website, www.chelseafc.com.[LNB]"For me, last season was a great season, but every season you can do better and I will give my maximum and hope I can give the club more than last season.[LNB]"Every time you win, you want to show next year you are better, so we must do that."[LNB]And despite knowing the impending return of Boswinga from a knee injury could hamper his chances of staying in the side, Ivanovic insists he wants the Portugal international fit as soon as possible.[LNB]"I don't look at it like a battle," he said.[LNB]"Jose is a fantastic player, he has been injured almost a year and we are waiting for him to be fit again so that he can help the team.[LNB]"That is the most important thing."
