Carlo - Europe not a priority

New Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has stressed he will not focus solely on winning the UEFA Champions League. The former AC Milan head coach was unveiled to the media as Blues boss on Monday and immediately outlined that Manchester City target John Terry will remain at the club. Chelsea have won two Premier League titles since owner Roman Abramovich took over but Europe's elite competition has so far evaded the West London outfit. Ancelotti lifted the Champions League trophy twice when in charge of Milan but has made it clear there have been no suggestions Europe should be his main target in his debut season at Stamford Bridge. "For Chelsea it is important to win the Champions League but it is important to win the Premier League at the same time," said Ancelotti. "We have to do the maximum we can in all competitions." Ancelotti also explained that he will not panic buy during the summer transfer window, having already landed Ross Turnbull, Daniel Sturridge and Yuri Zhirkov. "We keep control of the market and we are not in a hurry," said Ancelotti. "The market closes on 31st August and if there is a good opportunity for us we can do it. If not, we still have a great team."
