Paperwork holds up official announcement

Gary Cahill is at Stamford Bridge following his successful medical this morning.

A Chelsea spokesman has said that the paperwork has yet to be finalised. This means that Chelsea cannot officially announced the £7m centre-back as a Chelsea player.

They fully expect that to happen on Monday or Tuesday. But it's now just an administration thing and Chelsea has a new defender.

Cahill, 26, will go straight into the squad for next Saturday's Premier League clash at Carrow Road against Norwich City.
