Buck - Hiddink will be missed
Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck says the club have done their 'homework' in finding Guus Hiddink's replacement, but admits the Dutchman will be missed.
Hiddink marked the last game of his temporary spell in charge of the Blues by overseeing a 2-1 win over Everton in the FA Cup final at Wembley.
The 62-year-old has stood by his decision to return to his duties as Russia coach on a full-time basis, despite the Chelsea players pleading with Hiddink to stay.
AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti has been mooted as the likely successor to Hiddink, with Buck acknowledging the impact he has made during his short time at Stamford Bridge.
"He's been loved by the Chelsea fans since the minute he arrived," said Buck.
"We always knew he was a good guy and he's proven that, so we're definitely going to miss him.
"There are only a few great coaches in this world and he is one of them.
"But we have known since February he was going to leave, so we've done our homework and we'll push on from here."
Buck also reiterated that Chelsea will not be making any attempt to try to convince Hiddink to change his mind about leaving the club to focus on his commitments with Russia.
"He hasn't gone yet, but I think we know that (keeping him) is not on the cards," added Buck.
"He's on his way today and he's got games with Russia next week, so he's off."
