Bridge blow rocks Blues

Bridge blow rocks Blues

Chelsea's left-back problems have intensified with the news that Wayne Bridge is unlikely to play in the club's next two matches because of a thigh problem.

The former Southampton star will definitely miss Saturday's Premiership clash with Middlesbrough at Stamford Bridge and is unlikely to feature in the FA Cup fifth round encounter against either Blackpool or Norwich City.

Blues boss Jose Mourinho is already without Ashley Cole, who will miss at least two months with the knee ligament damage he suffered against Blackburn Rovers last week.

Paulo Ferreira is expected to start at left-back against Boro.

Bridge was forced to pull out of the England squad for the friendly international with Spain after picking up the injury during training on Monday.

It is hoped that he will return to action when Chelsea play FC Porto in the Champions League on February 21.
