Brian Moore: Chelsea's transfer ban needs grownup debate

Unfortunately, for those who believe Chelsea deserve their transfer embargo for Gaël Kakuta's signing, because they have got away with other things in the past, the analysis is true. [LNB]While a system to give some compensation to clubs that nurture talent would be a good thing, it must be balanced with a young player's right to move up the footballing ladder without unreasonable hindrance. [LNB]Didier Drogba and Emmanuel Adebayor must show better discipline and dedicationJuventus punished after Mario Balotelli is racially abusedMoreover, any arrangement would have to pass EU stipulations about freedom of movement and restraint of trade when the youth player matures. [LNB]Again, this is about looking at a wider picture and establishing a workable set of regulations; those who reduce it to factional club-base abuse do not understand the full ramifications of this judgment. [LNB]If Chelsea are punished, they should appeal and other Premier League clubs should use the time to back a campaign to develop a workable set of laws. [LNB]Finally, although this applies to open age football, why do Fifa president Sepp Blatter and Uefa president Michel Platini continue to ignore the activities of Barcelona and Real Madrid and all those French clubs scouting around North Africa?
