Brazilian wonderkid set for Chelsea switch in the summer

The sale of Kenedy looks set to go ahead quickly after his rights were sold to an investment company according to reports in the Metro this morning. The player is hailed as the new Neymar and the Fluminense striker is already hot-property with United already having failed in a bid to land the starlet.

The Metro quote Globo Esporte in Brazil who say that a deal with Chelsea is on for the end of the season with the company involved wanting a quick sale after picking up his rights for just £5.8m. The players agent is the former Chelsea midfielder Deco which is according to the Standard a major factor in Chelsea looking favourites ahead of Man United, Barcelona, Inter and Juventus.

If Kenedy was to switch to Chelsea he would join fellow compatriots such as Oscar, Willian and Ramires which would certainly help the player settle although the Standard feel that whilst the player has undoubted potential he will be some way off first-team football and would likely be loaned out to get experience away from the pressures of the Bridge.

Kenedy has caps for the under-17 and under-20 Brazil squad and has performed well for Fluminense but will of course be unproven in Europe but the fact that such big clubs are looking to persuade the player to join them shows that Chelsea are not alone in recognising the talent.
