According to Caughtoffside Chelsea are reportedly set to bring Borussia Dortmund striker Marco Reus to Stamford Bridge.

The Blues have finally lost patience with misfiring striker Fernando Torres after the player has continued to under-perform under his former mentor Rafa Benitez.

It is rumoured that Chelsea supremo Roman Abramovich is now ready to cut his losses on the Spanish striker and has sanctioned a big money bid for the player.

Reus has impressed since returning to Dortmund from Borussia Monchengladbach and has become a key part of the side that has been taking the Champions League by storm.

Dortmund are unlikely to let the player go cheap however having paid around £15 million for the player just last year.

A number of top European clubs have been alerted however following the player’s impressive form this season and it may be a matter of time before the German international is plying his trade for one of Europe’s elite clubs.

Dortmund are unlikely to be able to resist a bid in excess of £35 million and it is thought Chelsea are ready to splash out on the 23-year old.

The rambunctious forward is known for his pacy runs and sharp finishing and is seen as the perfect partner for recent Chelsea acquisition Demba Ba.
