AC Milan have told Chelsea to forget about making an approach for striker Alexandre Pato.
Reports last week claimed that an unnamed Premier League club - believed to be Manchester United - had made a £45million approach for the Brazilian teenager.
Chelsea are now rumoured to be preparing a similar offer for the 19-year-old South American, but Milan have told the Stamford Bridge club that they will be wasting their time.
"We previously received a superior offer to this one and we already said no to that, so the answer would be no," said vice-president Adriano Galliani.
Pato has been linked with a move to Chelsea following the decision of former Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti to take the reins at the London club for next season.
However, Milan are keen to retain the rising star after losing Kaka to Real Madrid since the end of last campaign.
