Chelsea manager Avram Grant has admitted Shaun Wright-Phillips is a major doubt for the Carling Cup semi-final second leg meeting with Everton after picking up an ankle injury.
The England winger limped off just 30 minutes into Saturday's 1-0 victory over Birmingham City at St Andrew's and is a major doubt for the midweek cup trip to Goodison Park.
"It is not looking good but we will wait and see how things are," said Grant.
"Shaun was very good last week against Tottenham and we are used to losing players who are in good form.
"We want him back as soon as possible."
Meanwhile, Grant was pleased with the performance in which Claudio Pizarro scored a 79th-minute winner for the in-form Blues.
"Although the goal came late, we had the majority of the possession," he added.
"We didn't create so many chances but still had two or three opportunities before we broke through.
"We were aware that Birmingham had picked up points against Liverpool and Arsenal this season and it was very important to win here.
"We were patient because in these games you don't get many chances - especially against them at their place."
