Chelsea have agreed a deal with FC Porto for the signing of Portugal international right-back Jose Bosingwa.

The 25-year-old is expected to cost the Blues around £16million, having travelled to England to discuss personal terms and undergo a medical after a three-year contract was agreed.

Bosingwa has also been a target for both Manchester Unietd and Aston Villa in the past, but will make the move to Stamford Bridge to link up with compatriots Ricardo Carvalho and Paulo Ferreira.

The former Boavista full-back has won a handful of caps for Portugal to date, but is expected to be named in the squad for the upcoming European Championship finals.

Bosingwa joined Porto in the summer of 2003, being signed by former Blues manager Jose Mourinho and went on to help the club to four league titles and Champions League glory in 2004.
