Chelsea have categorically denied making a world record bid in excess of £70million for AC Milan's Brazilian superstar Kaka.
The 27-year-old South American is being heavily linked with an exit from the Rossoneri, with Real Madrid the favourites to tie up a mega-deal.
However, reports on Wednesday afternoon suggested that the Blues had entered the bidding for Kaka and had lodged a huge bid of their own.
A short statement from the Blues read: "We have never made an offer to AC Milan for Kaka and therefore not one at this extraordinary level.
"As a consequence we have not discussed a salary with the player either. Any reports to the contrary are totally untrue."
Kaka himself had earlier insisted that he doesn't want to leave the San Siro this summer, having come close to joining Manchester City in January.
He commented: "I will say it for one last time - I do not want to leave Milan.
"I prefer to keep quiet for the time being because I don't want to be misinterpreted or, even worse, manipulated.
"I just want to say to the millions of Rossoneri fans that I have made my choice - I want to stay.
"I want to keep winning with Milan. I'm staying at Milan. As of today, this case is over."
