Blues resolve Mikel dispute
02 Dec 2008 - 06:47:32
Chelsea and Lyn Oslo have reached an agreement in their dispute over the controversial transfer of John Obi Mikel to Stamford Bridge more than two years ago.
The Blues issued a High Court claim earlier this year against the Norwegian side and their former chief executive Morgan Andersen in an effort to recoup the £16million transfer fee they paid for the Nigerian.
Chelsea claimed the transfer was based on the "fraudulent misrepresentation that Mikel had an employment contract with Lyn".
However, a short statement on Premier League side's official website read: "Chelsea Football Club and FC Lyn Oslo have resolved all matters between the two clubs with regard to John Obi Mikel.
"The terms of the agreement will remain confidential. There will be no further comment."
Since moving to Chelsea, the 21-year-old has scored twice in 100 appearances for the club.
