Chelsea have been linked with an £8million move for Serbian defender Branislav Ivanovic.
The Lokomotiv Moscow defender has previously been mentioned as a possible target for Manchester United, where he would link up with international team-mate Nemanja Vidic.
The 23-year-old captained the Serbian side which reached the final of last year's UEFA Under-21 European Championship and was also named in the team of the tournament.
He has also won nine full international caps and scored one goal for the fledgling nation.
Chelsea are keen to bolster their defence with John Terry still some weeks away from returning from injury and Ricardo Carvalho currently banned.
Ivanovic can play anywhere across the back four and his possible arrival has also led to speculation that Wayne Bridge will be allowed to leave.
The England left-back, who is often overlooked in favour of Ashley Cole, is a reported target for Liverpool.
