Blues face Drogba injury wait

Injured Chelsea striker Didier Drogba will not be back in action until the end of October, according to claims from his national team manager.

The Ivory Coast frontman is currently on the sidelines following summer knee surgery and has missed the Blues' entire pre-season programme.

New Chelsea boss Luiz Felipe Scolari has previously suggested Drogba could be back in action towards the end of August.

However, the 30-year-old's international coach Vahid Halilhodzic is less optimistic.

"Drogba will not be back before a month, a month and a half," he said.

"He has started to run but he will not be available for the (Ivory Coast) match against Mozambique (on September 5)."
