Netherlands international Khalid Boulahrouz has ended his two-year stay at Chelsea and penned a permanent contract with Stuttgart.
The 26-year-old made 23 appearances for the Blues in the 2006-07 season following his £8.5million transfer from Hamburg and spent last term on loan at Sevilla.
A brief statement on the Premier League side's official website read: "Chelsea Football Club has agreed a fee for the transfer of Khalid Boulahrouz to VfB Stuttgart in Germany.
"We would like to thank Khalid for his contribution while he was at Chelsea FC and we would like to wish him luck at his new club."
Stuttgart coach Armin Veh added: "He is just the man we were lacking. He is one who is not scared of getting involved when needed."
Boulahrouz won a late call-up to the Dutch squad for Euro 2008 after Ryan Babel suffered ankle ligament damage in training.
