Chelsea took a huge step towards the knockout stages of the Champions League by emphatically defeating Atletico Madrid 4-0 at Stamford Bridge, courtesy of Salomon Kalou's double and Frank Lampard's strike.[LNB] With Ricardo Carvalho dropped following his defensive errors at Aston Villa last weekend, Carlo Ancelotti's men bounced back and went ahead through Kalou just before the interval.[LNB] They maintained their 100% record in Group D after Kalou extended their lead just after the break and Lampard added another from long range. An own goal in stoppage-time, from Luis Perea, accounted for the fourth.
