Blues romp past Blackpool

19 September 2010 18:00
Chelsea maintained their 100% record in the Premier League as they hammered Blackpool 4-0. Salomon Kalou opened the scoring after just 70 seconds when he netted from Didier Drogba's corner and Florent Malouda made it two in the 12th minute converting Drogba's centre. Skipper Drogba got in on the act against a shell-shocked Seasiders by making it three on the half hour with a deflected effort. And Kalou turned provider for Malouda to bag his second of the game when he fired home from 15 yards on the stroke of half time. Blackpool improved after the break and could have reduced their arrears, but DJ Campbell saw an effort cleared off the line. Ashley Cole, Drogba, Malouda and Kalou all wasted chances to extend Chelsea's lead further as the champions had to settle for four.
