Blues deserve Prem title, says Lampard

Frank Lampard believes champions-elect Chelsea fully deserve the title for the way they have performed at a crucial stage of the season.[LNB] Carlo Ancelotti's side responded to a shock 4-2 home defeat by Manchester City at the end of February by putting together a nine-match run in which they won seven, drew one and lost one.[LNB]During that spell they crucially beat title rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford, defeated Liverpool at Anfield and put seven past both Aston Villa and Stoke.[LNB]All that has added up to a one-point advantage over Sir Alex Ferguson's side heading into the final games of the season.[LNB]A first Premier League title in four years is Chelsea's to lose at they host Wigan while United are at home to Stoke.[LNB]But Lampard believes what has gone before in the last couple of months proves their championship credentials.[LNB]"We have had a couple of moments in the season when we have not been at our best and the momentum went back to United," said the England midfielder.[LNB]"But in the last 10 games or so our performances have been fantastic, so has the attitude of the lads.[LNB]"We have got a head of steam up. There is still another game to go but we are in a good position.[LNB]"If you are going to win titles you are going to have these moments.[LNB]"Whether it is a crunch moment like yesterday, when we played Liverpool with United playing Sunderland after us, or whether it be a game at home which you should win comfortably.[LNB]"You have to do the job right."[LNB]Lampard scored the second goal which killed off Rafael Benitez's side at Anfield yesterday with a trademark run into the penalty area and close-range finish from Nicolas Anelka's cross.[LNB]Manager Ancelotti paid tribute to the 31-year-old, who has had another great season in front of goal.[LNB]"I am not surprised. Lampard has scored 26 goals in the season and he has these fantastic skills," said the Italian.[LNB]"He moves into the box at the right time and he always does this."[LNB]Ancelotti has told his players to remain calm as the pressure builds ahead of what should be their title-winning party at Stamford Bridge next weekend.[LNB]And striker Didier Drogba, who scored the opening goal at Anfield after capitalising on Steven Gerrard's ill-judged back-pass, has echoed those comments ahead of the final day meeting with Wigan.[LNB]"Now we have another game we need to win," said the Ivory Coast international.[LNB]"We have waited for this moment for such a long time but it is not done yet.[LNB]"We just need to concentrate on this next game."
