Ballack denies Lamps talk
12 Feb 2008 - 15:36:18
Chelsea midfielder Michael Ballack believes he and the fit-again Frank Lampard can play in the same side.
Ballack and Lampard started Sunday's goalless draw against Liverpool after the England man returned following a ten-match absence with a thigh injury.
The pair have struggled to perform alongside each other following the arrival of the German captain at Stamford Bridge last summer leading to calls that they are unable to play together.
However, Ballack insists the pair are compatible and their partnership will improve now they are both fully-fit.
"Frank is a very good player and we need him," he said.
"He has scored a lot of goals and it is not about him, me or anyone else in midfield.
"I have no problems playing with anybody and it is better to have a good player by your side than a bad one.
"I think we can put all the doubts to bed. We have played a lot of games together and it is not a problem."
